Test your knowledgeCheck some of our exercises and their distinct difficulty levels. Our pages will present you examples of Chessimo exercises and their distinct levels of difficulty. All exercises are contained in our database and are displayed in order of difficulty. But the themes that they address are all mixed so that identifying them gets harder. This intends to stimulate the student to try to recognize these themes as it would be necessary in a tournament game or in friendly games. The levels were established in a subjective way and were classified as follows:
This is the order in which the exercises of the following pages are presented and our idea is to give you an opportunity to assess whether the program is useful to your learning process and development. Chessimo explores all themes in the different tactic, strategy and endgame modules but here we’ve selected only one theme from each module. Our section of endgames addresses the position of King and pawn against King; the strategy section deals with the dominance of the center and tactics presents combinations that explore or result in Knight mates. In the following pages the difficulty level will raise after every two exercises. You are supposed to determine the result of each game (the color at the bottom of the chessboard is always the one that moves) and the best move to be performed first. If you want to see the answers, just place you mouse cursor beneath each chess board.

"Solving problems is a practical experience, like swimming, skiing or playing the piano. It's only possible to learn it by imitation of good examples and continuous practice" George Polya "Excellent – there is nothing alike, not even in other languages. Players from all kinds of levels can benefit from the exercises." Cassiano Augusto Cavalcante |
