A: 1-d4 building up a strong center with pawns.
A: 1-cxd4 strengthening the white center.

Beginner +

A: 1...d5 disputing the center and opening lines for development.
A: 1...f6 preparing ...e5 and thus guaranteeing a greater central dominance.
